Guttering and gutter cleaning in Leeds
More of the damage I get called out to starts in a gutter than starts on a roof. Water backs up, runs down the wall instead of the downpipe, and gets into the brickwork or under the eaves.
A gutter clear is a cheap morning. Repointing a saturated wall is not. If you only do one bit of maintenance on your house, do this one.
While I am up there I will tell you what the roof looks like from close up, which you cannot get from the pavement.

What the job involves
- 1Clear by hand, not just blown out
Vacuuming from the ground misses the compacted stuff at the joints, which is where blockages actually sit.
- 2Check the falls and the joints
A clear gutter that does not fall towards the downpipe still overflows. I check it runs before I leave.
- 3Repair rather than replace where it is sound
Often it is one bracket or one joint seal. I will not quote a full run when a fitting fixes it.

How often should gutters be cleaned?
Once a year for most houses, twice if you have trees close by. Blocked gutters are behind a large share of the damp and roof damage I get called out to.
Can you repair a gutter or does it all need replacing?
Often just a joint, a bracket or a section. I will not sell you a full run when a joint seal fixes it.
How much does a roof repair cost in Leeds?
Most small repairs, a slipped tile or a bit of flashing, land between £150 and £400. A bigger job needs a look first. I quote in writing before anything starts, and the quote is the price.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. I come out, look at the roof properly, and tell you what it needs. If it does not need doing, I will say so.
How quickly can you come out?
For a leak, usually the same day or the next morning. I will get it watertight first and sort the proper repair once the weather allows.
Are you insured?
Yes, fully insured for public liability. Ask to see the certificate and I will send it over before I start.
